England take six golds at largest ever European Youth Touch Championships

Action got underway on Friday morning following the opening ceremony the evening before. 43 teams from 10 nations, joined an invitational guest team from Tanglin Trust School, across the nine categories of competition.

Teams faced one another across the first two days of competition before an action packed finals day on Sunday. Nine finals across two streamed pitches reached a fitting finale with England Women beating France Women in the 20s final. Their male counterparts also beat France, but this time across a three test series, winning 3-0. But it wasn't all England in the 20s division with Ireland saving their best game til last to come out on top in the third final.

The largest growth came across the 15s divisions with 19 teams spanning the boys, girls and mixed competitions. Teams from China and Lebanon joined the European nations with England, France, Wales sharing the medals across all three categories.

Meanwhile in the 18s divisions, the medals were shared more evenly, with  Ireland and Scotland joining England, France and Wales on the podium. The Cayman Isles, Lebanon and Portugal all stepped up their games to test others in the mixed and boys competition and a special mention to Tanglin Trust who whilst they couldn't medal, mixed it up with the national teams with three pool wins from their six games.
