Pacific nations to work together for future success

The date with destiny for the Pacific teams and their quest to compete at the 2019 Pacific Games Touch event last week hosted by Samoa Touch President, Mailata Michael Wulf and his dedicated team has come to a close.

Seven Pacific nations competed throughout the week with pride and passion, representing their families and countries participating at a competitive level and in the true spirit of sport. The teams hailed from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga and of course the hosting country Samoa.

The FIT Secretary General, Bill Ker, said "The Touch event has been a success due to the commitment and leadership of Samoa Touch President, Mailata Michael Wulf, his team and also the officials and support teams from the participating Pacific nations working behind the scenes to make it happen. Thank you everyone for your support."

Also during the week a number of Touch delegates from across the Pacific came together to establish working relationships and to discuss the opportunity to share operating synergies, fundamental pathways and their unique identities.

"This is an important milestone for our Pasifika Touch aiga, as we focus on establishing stronger relationships and working collaboratively to achieve strategic goals, identifying where functions and processes can leverage off one another and share our unique identities and values so that we can compete at the highest level in the spirit of our sport." said FIT Member Relations representative, Rhonda Togipau.
