The Board of the WTA is pleased to announce a new ‘Development Partnership’ between the WTA and WRU Touch for 2016 season and beyond.
The Board of the WTA is pleased to report that Jon Francis and Matt Enoch had another very positive meeting with senior WRU representatives a couple of weeks ago. As a result of that meeting we are now able to confirm we have agreed to formulate the wording of a new ‘Development Partnership’ between the WTA and WRU Touch for 2016 season and beyond.
The overall objective of the exercise is to work together to develop the player base and referee numbers across the whole of Wales. Ultimately, for those players and referees that wish to develop their knowledge and skills, this would include a process to produce more representative players and refs at the elite end of the game.
There is a very positive relationship now in place and many thanks need to go to the people at WRU who have worked to bring this about, not to mention the current and past WTA Board members who continue to give their time voluntarily to help develop and grow the game in Wales.
On the back of the very successful Junior Touch Championships (where Wales’ Junior teams won all categories), this will be another very positive step forward for the all those refereeing, playing and wishing to take up Touch in Wales
