Happy Birthday Berlin!

Like all great achievements throughout mankind, it all starts with just an idea.
Twelve (12) years ago a young Aussie whippersnapper named Rob Macgregor had an epiphany that “surely there is something better to do in this country than play football’ and from that point he proceeded to collect any rag tag expat he could find, along with some confused Germans; and together they made history!
From those humble beginnings back in 2003 playing pick up touch on saturdays at Rehberge, the Berlin club has consistently grown in strength from strength to strength.
In 2005 Touch Berlin aligned with BSV 92 and became the first "official" Touch team in Germany, and remained unbeaten until the Koln team was founded and had someone to play. As Rob recalls, Touch Berlin won the first German Championship in Erfurt, playing a tough final against Koln, winning in the drop off from a spectacular try from Lena.
Since then many people have enriched the club with their touch knowledge, support, enthusiasm, talent ... and drinking ability!
Around 2010 the club moved to its current home at TIB and has developed into the international powerhouse it is today, hosting one of the premiere touch tournaments, the Capital Cup.
Berlin celebrated their 10th anniversary with a tournament. 6 teams participated: Touch Berlin Goldies (players who are now living all around Europe and came together for this tournament), Touch Berlin Armadillos, Touch Berlin Foxes, Touch Stockholm (the only international team), Sou’westers (with players from the other German teams, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt) and Northen Barbarians with random ex rugby players. It was a fitting way to celebrate, and they can't wait for the 2016 Capital Cup to show the continuing wave of class coming through the club.
