The man universally known as "Mr Touch", Peter Walters, will be leaving the cold winter of NZ and heading to the northern hemisphere next week, embarking on a series of clinics and development sessions.
Peter, Head of National Coaching and Elite Development in New Zealand, started his involvement with Touch in 1980 in Auckland at the Marist rugby club, one of the first competitions that introduced Touch into New Zealand. As a player he quickly stamped his mark on the game and made the Auckland and New Zealand teams in 1986 at the first Touch Nationals in Rotorua.
He has since played and coached at every National Touch Championships in NZ history; and has represented NZ at every Touch World Cup, from the first in 1988 to the most recent in Edinburgh in 2011. He has also played and coached NZ teams to two world cup wins, in 1999 and 2007.
Great effort Peter, and we're sure the knowledge you pass on during your travels will be invaluable.
